Nous sommes clown(e)s.

La tradition des clowns de cirque ne nous est pas étrangère. Nous avons expérimenté toutes sortes d’espaces (piste du cirque, scène du théâtre et du cabaret, espace public, espace privé…) où nos personnages ont enflé leurs mimiques, diminué leur âge mental et inversement, joué « ici et maintenant » ainsi que dans des espaces imaginaires. 

Nous sommes également intervenus dans des lieux où nos personnages ont tenté de proposer leur humanité tonitruante pour accompagner la souffrance (par exemple dans des services hospitaliers).

Aujourd’hui nous désirons être au monde et amuser grâce au regard que nos clowns posent sur celui-ci.

Le personnage clownesque invite son auteur à rire de ses propres faiblesses, à oser être parfaitement ridicule, à prendre la liberté d'être lui-même. 

L’auto-dérision est le terreau de l’expression clownesque. L‘artiste est susceptible de donner une traduction de l’humanité à la fois candide et moqueuse, désopilante et poétique.

La grande particularité du clown est d’inventer un langage qui dévoile l’âme humaine. 

Par la grâce de ce personnage hors norme, nous nous amusons à disséquer la tragique condition humaine en nous demandant comment l’homme s’entrave dans sa quête du bonheur.

We are clowns.

We are familiar with the tradition of circus clowns. We experienced all kinds of spaces (circus ring, theater stage and cabaret, public space, private space…) where our characters swelled their facial expression, decreased/increased their mental age, played in the “here and now” but also in imaginary spaces.  We also intervened in places where our characters tried to propose their thunderous humanity to accompany pain and suffering (for example in the hospital). 

Today we want to “be in the world” and amuse through the way the clowns look at it.

The clownish character invites his author to laugh with his own flaws, to dare being totally ridiculous, to take the freedom of being himself.

To laugh with oneself is the base of the clownish expression. The artist can give a vision of humanity which is at the same time candid and mocking, hilarious and poetic. The specialty of the clown is to invent a language that reveals the human soul.

By the grace of this extraordinary character, we have fun dissecting the tragic human condition and ask ourselves how man blocks himself in his quest for happiness.
